Jed Coffin is the owner and principal of Arts Finance Resources. Retiring in 2019 from his service as Chief Financial Officer for Social Advocates for Youth in Santa Rosa, Jed was recognized as one of the North Bay’s Top CFO’s of 2018 by the North Bay Business Journal.

For over 30 years, Jed has devoted his professional career to the financial issues confronting non-profit organizations, serving lengthy terms in senior financial management for the Sonoma Academy, Monterey Symphony, Santa Rosa Symphony and San Francisco Ballet.

Jed’s specialties include troubleshooting cash flow, multi-year budgeting and long range strategic financial planning. He has deep experience with systems analysis, audit preparation and the proper handling of all issues surrounding restricted assets. Additionally his expertise extends to data conversion, translation and custom database design.

Prior to developing his business skills as an operations analyst and corporate trainer, Jed’s early training was in theatre and dance, and his involvement in the arts, artistically or administratively, has spanned 40 years. He is as comfortable discussing lighting and set design as he is the impact of those design ideas on financial management.

Jed has been an adjunct instructor at San Francisco State University, in their Nonprofit Management Certificate Program, as well as Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa. A long time resident of Sonoma County, he regularly provides pro bono consulting services to nonprofits throughout the County.

In his spare time, Jed is returning to the studio to restage a ballet he choreographed earlier in his career, and is pursuing a longtime dream of developing a professional school and company in Sonoma County.

He is a frequent panel speaker, most notably at conferences sponsored by the Association of California Symphony Orchestras. After joining their Board of Directors in 2003, he served as treasurer from 2003 to 2006.
